Eyedropper picking up gradient but not...

Hello,

When I have a box/shape with a gradient and a custom angle, which I created using the gradation tool, the eyedropper picks up the gradient, but not the angle. I have checked the eyedropper preferences and it is checked to pick up everything.. Is there a way to get the eyedropper to also have?it grab that custom angle.

Simply put, you can't with the Eyedropper.

Drag your previously created object to the Graphic Styles Panel. Then draw the new object and click the style. Graphic Styles will retain angles as well as gradient colors.

This used to work just fine with the Eyedropper. Which version of Illustrator are you using?

Just tried it again in AI 10 and AI CS4. Works as expected, the grad's angle is respected.

Can you post a screenshot that shows your Eyedropper options?

What is weird about that, is that was the first place I looked, but then when I just closed the carrot up, it was already checked...so i assumed it just looks different when the carrot is open??

It is and has always been confusing. That's Illustrator.

Using the eyedropper tool on the run is a great asset using the graphic style is as well on a complex job or if you have been away from the project for a while.

For the Op it would be good to at least mark Kurts Response as helpful it is not a point thing but rather a way for other users to determined where to look for the answers to the same question if this is confusing them as well.
