Transparency in default Artistic Brush...

Using the Ellipse tool, I have created an circle with a Black stoke and no fill. I have also selected one of the default Artistic brushes for the stoke, namely, the Artistic Ink %26gt; Tapered Stroke. There appears to be some transparency now in the stroke and I am at a loss for how to remove it. The stroke is not quite black. When I examine the path in the Appearance window, the transparency appears to be set to 100% for both the path and the stroke. Thanks in advance.

In the Brushes Palette, drag the Brush out of the palette and drop it onto the Artboard. Ungroup the result. That's the art content of the Brush. Select and examine its elements, and you'll probably find that some of them have Transparency settings applied.

Alter the Brush artwork as you like. Select it all, drag and drop it back into the Brushes Palette to create a new Brush more to your liking.

Thank you, JET. That is exactly what I was looking for.
